The Ružička Reaction
We are interested in applying the Ružička reaction to cyclophanes and organic materials. The Ružička reaction has been known for nearly 100 years and displays a rare propensity towards the formation of large rings, despite this, the reaction has not found popularity in synthesis. We are going to change that (We will change the need for thorium too, we promise).
Functional Molecular Liquids
A serendipitous discovery during Dr. Walsh’s PhD instilled in him a love for liquid molecules, especially large and π-conjugated ones that absorb light. We are looking to apply functional molecular liquids more broadly and harness the liquid phase in organic electronics.
